Step 1:- First of all, you have to upload the backup of your website in the root directory of your web hosting account. If you want to add an addon domain then upload it on the subfolder. To do that login to your cPanel and open the file manager.

Step 2:- Use the upload option shown in the menu bar. A new tab would open to upload the file. Choose the file from your hard drive and upload it. Wait for the upload to get finished and then return to the root directory.

Step 3:- Extract the zip file in the root directory and delete the zip file. The task to restore website from backup is done. Now is the time to restore the backup of the database.

Step 4:- Before restoring, you have to create a database and the import the database from the hard drive. It can be done using the phpMyAdmin.

After creating the database, choose the name of the database from the left menu in the phpMyAdmin and then click on the “import” option from the menu bar above.

You have successfully uploaded the backup of the website and the database on your web hosting server. Now if you are getting the database establishing error then you have to edit the wp-config.php file and check the credential of the database name, username etc.

Step 1:- Go to the “files” section and click on the “Backups” option. A new tab would open for you.

Step 2:- Scroll down and you would see the options to upload the backup of the root directory and the database. Just choose the options and restore WordPress site from backup.

If you have created an email with your domain name then you can upload the email forwarders if any.

You can choose any of the ways according to your need. But if you want to upload the backup for an addon domain then you have to extract the zip file of the backup in the subfolder of that addon domain. Don’t extract in the root directory.

You have successfully restored the website from the backup. If you’re getting the login page refresh problem then you should solve it. The 500 error can also be solved. Just make sure that you match the database name, username, hostname in the wp-config.php file.
